Household operates under a collective leadership model. The team in Belfast includes Sighle Bhreathnach Cashell, Alissa Kleist, and Ciara Hickey, designer Sean Greer, artist and arts administrator Sinead O’Neill-Nicholl, artist and organiser Jane Butler, and is supported by our artists, community collaborators, and co-founders and Company Directors Kim McAleese and Eoin Dara, who are based in Birmingham and Dundee.
Sighle Bhreathnach-Cashell is an artist and curator specialising in interactive installation. She holds an MFA from the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam and completed her BA in Environmental Art at the Glasgow School of Art.
Eoin Dara is the Head of Exhibitions at Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA). In his previous position as Curator at the MAC Belfast, Eoin has staged major exhibition projects such as Felix Gonzalez-Torres: This Place, the largest presentation of the artist’s work in Ireland to date.
Ciara Hickey is the Adult Programmes Producer at Hillsborough Castle. In her previous role as Curator of Belfast Exposed Photography she curated and managed numerous gallery exhibitions and public programmes, including the Belfast Exposed Futures programme, which supports photographers working in Northern Ireland by developing and promoting their work internationally.
Alissa Kleist is a curator based in Belfast. She was the Curator (Exhibitions) at CCA Derry~Londonderry (2015 – 2018) where she worked on commissioning and delivering exhibitions and projects with local and international artists.
Kim McAleese is a curator based in Belfast and Birmingham. She is the Programme Director of Grand Union, a gallery space and artists’ studios in the Birmingham, where she has worked with artists such as Prem Sahib, Emma Hart, Alice Theobald, and Fay Nicolson.
